Claims & Repairs

Find answers about claims, repair approvals, inspections and pre-existing faults.

How do I make an extended warranty claim?

Contact the warranty provider or claims administrator as soon as a problem occurs and follow the claims procedure in your warranty documentation. Repairs should not be authorised or commenced until the required approval has been obtained.

Can I choose my own repairer?

Repairer requirements depend on the warranty terms and claims process. Contact the claims administrator before arranging repairs so they can confirm the appropriate repairer and authorisation process.

Are diagnostic costs automatically covered?

Not necessarily. Diagnostic costs and the process for establishing the cause of a failure depend on the warranty terms and the outcome of the claim. You may be responsible for diagnostic costs where a failure is excluded or a claim is not approved.

What happens if a repair costs more than the claim limit?

If the approved repair cost exceeds the applicable claim limit or approved contribution, you may need to pay the difference. This is why claim limits are important when comparing warranty products.

Will a fault that appears months after I buy the vehicle be treated as pre-existing?

Not simply because it appears later. A pre-existing fault is a problem that existed before the warranty commenced. When a claim is assessed, the circumstances, diagnosis, vehicle history and available evidence can be considered to determine the cause and timing of the failure.
