Transfers & Cancellations
Learn about transferring or cancelling a warranty, refunds and what happens when you sell your vehicle.
Can I transfer my extended warranty if I sell my vehicle privately?
Some extended warranties can be transferred to a private purchaser, subject to the applicable transfer conditions, time limits, documentation and fee. Check the warranty terms before selling the vehicle.
Should I buy a warranty before selling my car or let the purchaser arrange it?
If you are selling privately, it can be simpler to advertise that an extended warranty is available and arrange the warranty directly in the purchaser's name once the sale is agreed. This can avoid needing to complete a transfer later and may allow the purchaser to choose an appropriate warranty term.
Can I cancel an extended warranty?
Cancellation and refund rights depend on the particular warranty. The applicable documentation explains any cooling-off period, administration fee, pro-rata calculation and the effect of claims already accepted or paid.
Can a warranty be transferred to a motor dealer?
Transfer conditions vary by product. For the current Integrity products arranged through MrWarranty, transfer is generally intended for an eligible private purchaser rather than a motor dealer or financier. Always check the current warranty documentation before arranging a transfer.
